Dear Jazz, 2024!

A visual love letter to jazz! Friday & Saturday, November 8 & 9.

Experience an unforgettable two nights of gorgeous and thought-provoking visual art with live music from top up-and-coming Chicago jazz musicians.

The Jazz Institute of Chicago proudly presents "Dear Jazz 2024," a two-night celebration of art and music that will captivate audiences at the beautiful Fulton Street Collective gallery, located at 1821 W. Hubbard Street in Chicago. This extraordinary event, taking place on November 8 and 9, 2024, will showcase the talents of 20 of Chicago's most revered artists, who have found inspiration in the timeless jazz genre. All artwork will be for sale.

Live jazz performances by the Ricardo Jimenez Quartet and the Millie Ahearn Quartet will accompany the exhibition, along with live painting during the concerts. Dear Jazz promises an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

FRIDAY, November 8th:

  • 6PM: VIP/Art Collector’s Reception.
    $20 suggested donation, includes first look at, and the option to purchase, artwork, plus drink, snacks, live jazz, admission, and concert. Jazz Links alum Brandon Harper will entertain on piano.

  • 7PM: General Admission. $5 suggested donation in advance, $10 at the door, includes gallery viewing, the option to purchase art, and concert. Beverages are available by suggested donation.

  • 8PM: Concert featuring Ricardo Jimenez Quartet, with live painting.

  • Donations benefit JIC and the artists.


SATURDAY, November 9th

  • 6PM: JIC Members Hour. Suggested Donation of $5, includes private viewing, drinks & snacks (until 7PM), and live jazz, general admission, and 8pm concert. Must be a current JIC Member. Lapsed Members and non-Members are welcomed with a purchase of a new Membership. Jazz Links alum Brandon Harper on piano.

  • 7PM: General Admission. $5 suggested donation in advance, $10 at the door, includes gallery viewing, option to purchase art, and concert. Beverages available by suggested donation.

  • 8PM: Concert featuring Millie Ahearn’s “Octagyn Collective with live painting.

  • Donations benefit JIC and the artists.
