Considered one of Chicago’s Young Lions and “one to watch out for” by the Chicago Tribune, Tenor Saxophonist, Bandleader, Composer, and Performer, John Foster-Brooks has made many accomplishments. Growing up on the Southside of Chicago he was first introduced to the alto Saxophone by mentor Diane Ellis. However, while listening to a Gene Ammons record he changed to the Tenor Saxophone and started studying with Tenor Saxophonist Ari Brown.

John graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan. He continues to play at various venues in both Chicago and New York. John was able to start and debut his first big band, “Foster Meets Brooks Big Band” in 2009 in Chicago For various debuts and in 2011 in New York City.

Enjoy Lick for Dayna with our thanks!  A link to the song will open in a separate tab.  To download, right click and select “save as”.
