Hello,
I'm a local writer at work on a piece about Jay Mayo Williams, Paramount Records' talent scout/producer, Black Patti Records' manager, and a generally interesting fellow in the history of Chicago blues and jazz. I'm trying to track down interviews with or about Mr. Williams, and I'd obviously love to talk to anyone who might have known or worked with him (He died in 1980, so I have my fingers crossed that a few folks who knew Williams are still around. I already interviewed Bob Koester of Jazz Record Mart, by the by). I can be reached at dan@mrdankelly.com.
FYI, I've seen the series of Paramount articles in 78 Quarterly and Alex Van Der Tuuk's book.
Thanks!
Dan Kelly
