Jazz Masters Residency Program

Jazz Master Residencies bring some of Chicago’s most sought-after jazz master artists into Chicago Public School K-12 classrooms for eight sessions. Faculty includes saxophonists Ari Brown and Mwata Bowden, pianist Roger Harris, drummer Ernie Adams, bassist/vocalist Katie Ernst, violinist Renee Baker and percussionist Ruben Alvarez. The Residencies provide professional staff development training for music instructors and build relationships between teachers, students, schools and musicians. The program also includes free access to live concert performances at The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.


Sample programs include Women In Music/The Jazz Voice; Jazz Band Intensive; Swinging, Grooving and Beyond; and Beyond Five Lines and Four Spaces.
