June 20, 2015 - 12:00 am

Now accepting applications for the 2015 Kiewit Wang Mentorship Awards!

The Kiewit-Wang Mentorship Award is given annually to two high school students at the freshman, sophomore or junior level that demonstrate excellence in musicianship as jazz instrumentalists. The award provides the winning students with 15 free lessons with a local jazz musician of their choice.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, located at 915 E. 60th St.

Students will need to be prepared to play “Impressions” by John Coltrane or “Blue Monk” by Thelonious Monk (in Bb) and a jazz standard of their choice. A rhythm section will be provided to accompany each student.

To schedule an audition, students should fill out an audition application form and return it to the Jazz Institute of Chicago.  Download a form
