JAZZCITY, 2024

JazzCity is a free concert series initiated in 1997 by the Jazz Institute of Chicago in collaboration with the Chicago Park District to bring people together to listen to Chicago’s top jazz musicians.

Created to connect people of all ethnicities and generations to the legacy of jazz in Chicago, this annual concert series which honors Chicago’s Jazz icons and their legacy is presented free of charge and right in people’s own backyards. JazzCity provides musicians with an opportunity to present new work, and audiences with an opportunity to bring families and friends to see world-class musicians in the friendly environment of a Park District field house. The concert series fosters greater awareness of the continuing legacy of Chicago’s vibrant jazz community and an unparalleled opportunity for musicians to reach audiences in the neighborhoods where they live.
